He was predeceased by : his parents, Flora Marrero and Juan Santiago; his son Elisel Santiago Jr.; and his brothers, Enrique, Carlos, Gelo and Ermito Santiago.

He is survived by : his wife Ramona Santiago; his children, Eileen Leo (Robert) and Teddy Santiago; his grandson Teddy "Moyo" Santiago (Teddy Keen Santiago); and his sisters, Nereida Martinez and Iris Calamussi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
