It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josefina Mendez Gonzalez of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, who passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Josefina leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Esperanza Gonzalez and Angel Luis Mendez; and her son Carlos Arroyo. She is survived by: her sons, Luis Mendez (Denise), Juan Arroyo Jr. (JoAnn), Ivan Arroyo (Jeanette) and Edwin Arroyo (Liz); and her siblings, Angel Luis, Luz Nereida and Fredesbinda. She is also survived by her daughter, 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
