With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Yunckes of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, who passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Joyce has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Schurig and Martha Schurig; and her sister Elaine Anania. She is survived by: her husband John M Yunckes; her children, Jeffrey Yunckes (Woodbridge Twp) and Jodi Anania (David) of East Brunswick, NJ; and her grandchildren, Beth, Paul, Paige Anania and Justin Yunckes.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mitruska Funeral Home (23 Ford Ave, Fords, NJ 08863). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Stephen's RC Church (490 State St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861). A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Gertrude Cemetery (53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067).
