He was predeceased by: his parents, Heriberto Vargas Medina and Margarita Laporte Camacho. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Remigio; his children, Juan Vargas, Jr., Deanna Vargas and Angel Remigio; and his sisters, Isabel and Marisol. He is also survived by grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.
