As Lucila departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Lucila. Though Lucila may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Carlos Castillo; her parents, Maria Rivera and Hinginio Muniz; and her son David Cruz. She is survived by: her children, Iris Cruz, Lucila Valentin (Carlos), Luis A. Cruz Jr. (Francine) and Carlos Castillo Jr.. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home (419 Barclay St, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861). Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Alpine Cemetery (703 Amboy Ave, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861).
