Marie Achaves Obituary
EAST BRUNSWICK – MARIE ACHAVES passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, to Thomas and Despina (née Kostos) Balsamides, she resided in Iselin, before moving to East Brunswick 21 years ago.
Prior to retiring, Marie was a realtor for Coldwell Banker in East Brunswick.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs, Benji and Barron.
Marie is predeceased by her husband, Dino Achaves; her children, George Achaves, Thomas Achaves, and Deborah Achaves.
Surviving are her daughter, Melanie Achaves of East Brunswick; her grandson, Thomas Achaves of East Brunswick; her brothers, Emanuel Balsamides and his wife, Patricia, of Florida, Michael Balsamides of Georgia and a dear aunt to many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:45 am, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy, NJ, under the direction of BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick, NJ.
