He was predeceased by : his parents, Peter Yerance and Alma Jessie Sutton Yerance; his wife Melody Ann Yerance; his son Michael V. Yerance; and his brother George Cowley.

He is survived by : his sons, John Yerance Jr. (Kelly) of Lehighton, PA and Russell Yerance (Gretchen) of Kiowa, Colorado; his siblings, Tom Cowley, Sr. (Sylvia) of Pen Argyl, PA and Janice Dormida (Paul) of Phillipsburg, NJ; and his half-brother Frank Steuer of Easton, PA. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren.
