He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolf Roots and Livinia Roots (Fleet); his son Dimitrius Wright; and his brother Walter Roots (Barbara). He is survived by: his wife Lenora M. Roots; his children, Vel Roots and Wayne Roots Jr. (Kristina); his grandchildren, Fayzon (Danielle), Donovan (Amber), Jordyn, Lauren and Brie Roots; his great grandchild Leilani Roots; and his sisters, Shirley Hutchings (John), Elizabeth Pitts and Brenda Chandler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
