We are sad to announce that on September 30, 2025, Irene Leontarakis (Piscataway, New Jersey) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Gus Leontarakis; her children, George Leontarakis (Maria), Patricia Leontarakis, Evellyn Tsiadis (late Steve) and Georgia Papanastasiou (John); her grandchildren, George Mavrookas, Kosta, Alexandra, Alina, Niko Leontarakis, Vasilia, Irene and Dimitri Papanastasiou; and her great grandchild Leonidas Mavrookas. She was also cherished by her family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church (1101 River Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bound Brook Cemetery (500 Mountain Ave, Bound Brook, NJ 08805).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church Memorial Fund, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 or Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 661 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306, in her memory, continuing her mission of spreading love and faith to those in need.
