She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Montgomery and Anna Montgomery; her former husband Clifford Vallaster; and her husband Ron Stanwood. She is survived by: her sons, Mark Vallaster (Ginger) and Paul Vallaster (Shannon); and her grandchildren, Andrew and Alexa.

“I cannot say enough good things about Bette; she was so kind. Bette was in our Hooks and Needles for God group for at least two years. Within that time, Bette was working on the same baby hat. You can tell she wasn't doing much crocheting. Bette was just being her sweet onery self. I'm going to miss you KID.”
