He was predeceased by: his parents, John Janet (Meta Lyness) and Mary Janet (Graceley); his wife Mary Janet Lyness; his daughter Elizabeth Ann Lyness; and his siblings, John Lyness, Margaret Turrentine and Sylvia Lyness.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas J. Lyness Jr. (Lorraine) of Mountain Lakes, Gerald F. Lyness (Nancy) of Pittstown, John F. Lyness (Carrie) of Manahawkin and Kathleen Laurent (Robert) of Martinsville. He is also survived by grandchildren and 21 adored great-grandchildren.
