He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Podpora and Helen Podpora (Skrzypczak); his close friend Dolores Sohn; his son Dennis Sohn; and his siblings, Chester Podpora, Janet Kresge and Rosemary Carter.

He is survived by: his children, Walter J. Podpora of Pittstown, NJ, Carol Anne Podpora, Barbara Cantamesa, Debbie Fuchs, Diane Throckmorton and Denise Reed; and his siblings, Michael Podpora and Helen Walter. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.
