He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John McRae and Mildred Harvard; his wife Sylvia McRae; his daughters, Courtney L. Smith, Esquire and Dr. Stephanie L. Dingle; his grandchildren, Sydney Smith and Bryson Charles Dingle; and his siblings, Beatrice Joy Bradley, Lucille Alice Graham, Lenora Roberts, MarthAnn Baldwin, Ronald McRae, Norman McRae, Thomas Hairl McRae, Ruth Harris, John Hairl McRae and Reginald McRae. He was also cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Covenant United Methodist Church (631 E Front St, Plainfield, NJ 07060). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
His involvement with the Kappa League and the Diamond Foundation further reflected his belief in the importance of mentorship and opportunity. Charles was particularly proud of his work with the Diamond Foundation, where he served as Chairman and later as a board member.
