He was predeceased by: his parents, Richmond Franklin and Verna Mae Simmons Williams; his wife Rubie Lee Burney of Grifton, N. C.; his stepfather Clarence Williams; his cousins, Emmett Simmons (Ercelle), Ella Nobles, Patricia Cheatham and Gary Nobles (Celeste); his in-laws, Odell Burney and Bessie Burney Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Johnnie Burney (Rosa), Delois Aulton, Wilton Hooker and Joseph Dixon.
He is survived by: his children, Dorita Brokenbough, Darrin Simmons and Darice Dixon (Edward Jerome); his grandchildren, Jason Brokenbough and Kristin Brokenbough; his brother Clarence Henry Williams; his cousins, Wilbert Nobles (Iona), Mary Nobles, Jackson (Marvin), James Nobles (Cynthia) and Alvin Nobles (Alice); and his siblings-in-law, Clarence Burney (Ruth), Doris Hooker and Linda Dixon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Baptist Church (2387 Morse Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM. An entombment was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (1100 E Broad St, Westfield, NJ 07090).
