He was predeceased by : his parents, James W. Johnson and Mae Ola Reeder Johnson; and his daughter Michele Johnson. He is survived by : his sons, Michael Atkinson and James Fletcher; his sisters, Suzanne Darby and Joyce Johnson (Melvin); his grandchildren, Mykal C. Atkinson, Michael Atkinson Jr. and Latiya Vaughan; his great grandchildren, Mhila Atkinson and Michael Atkinson III; and his close friend Delores Fletcher.
