It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mother Carrie Nelson (Plainfield, New Jersey), born in Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Ed Hayes-Morrow; her husband James Nelson; her daughter Velma Roane; and her grandsons, Robert Roane, Matthew Roane and Ernie Roane.
She is survived by: her grandsons, Minister Ozell Roane and Steve Roane of Plainfield, NJ; her stepgrandchildren, Rena Roane of Plainfield, NJ and Randy Roane of Plainfield, NJ; her siblings, Martha Marcelli of Inverness, FL, Rena Petitfrere of Scotch Plains, NJ and Bishop Simon Morrow (Erma) of Godfrey, IL; and her brother-in-law Bishop Arthur Lee Jenkins, Sr. of Iselin, NJ. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
