It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Herman Kuiken of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, born in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, who passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his siblings, John Kuiken (Pat) and Sharon Marcus (Charles). He is survived by : his wife Ruth Kuiken of Pompton Plains; his children, Vernon Kuiken (Linda) of Bloomingdale, Vonda Sosnovik (Ray) of Blairstown and Gretchen Leegwater (Bart) of Wyckoff; and his grandchildren, Andrew Kuiken (Serena), Joshua Kuiken (Nicollette), Richard Kuiken (Alyssa), Grace Curcio (Christian), Seth Abma (Rebecca), Taylor Nobel (Harry), McKenna Pennypacker (Jason), Hunter Leegwater (Renee) and Chase Leegwater.

After retiring, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Christian Health Care Center Foundation, and the Holland Christian Home foundation serving as its Executive Director for 15 years.
