It is with sadness that the passing of Thomas F. Murphy (Pompton Plains, New Jersey) is shared. Thomas, born on May 5, 1959, passed away on October 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Thomas will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Thomas by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Thomas is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Thomas’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mary (Bill Murphy) and Tom; his brother Timmy; his children, Shannon (Joe) and Thomas (Claudia); and his brother Billy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Scanlan's (781 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Thomas' memory to MSK Children's Hospital (https://give.mskcc.org) would be greatly appreciated.
