He was predeceased by: his parents, William Specht and Helen Specht; and his close friend Diane Limey. He is survived by: his son William N. Specht (Ellen) of West Milford; his grandchildren, Kathleen (Josh), Nicole (Tommy) and Paul; and his great grandchild Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Kidney Fund.
