He was predeceased by : his parents, Virginia Dyer and Bill Dyer; his former life partner Margaret Dyer-Weissman; and his brothers, Frank Dyer and William Dyer Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Teena Cahill; and his children, David Dyer, Matthew Dyer, Jennifer "Christy" Dyer Thrash, Andrew Cahill of James and Mia Cahill. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
