It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Casey Charles Huckel of Princeton, New Jersey, who passed away at the age of 35, on January 16, 2023. He is survived by : his parents, Kirk Huckel and Lisa Desiato; his stepmother Colleen Exter; his sibling Kiersten Huckel (Charles Sipio); his nephew Felix; and his siblings, Emily Lampshire (Stephen) and Cody Exter (Caroline). He is also survived by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness in Casey's memory.

“I was four years old and newly arrived in Princeton when Casey, holding his sister's hand, arrived at the front door of my Russell Rd home. During our playdates, he often climbed into the farthest branches of a tree and perched there, watching me struggle to reach him. I never could. We both admired Batman in those days, but I think Casey was more devoted. He was a born athlete and if anyone could grapple and run like Batman, it was him. Kindness was his default setting and absolute baseline.”

“Kirk, Lisa and Family, Casey was a 4th son of the Rafferty family; we all loved him so much and we enjoyed so many good memories with him. He seemed to show up at the best times, when we were in NYC, Dallas, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, always fitting right in. being a perfect gentleman and strengthening the love of family!
