He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Johnson and Cecelia Johnson (McCloskey); his sibling Thomas H. Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Martin F. Nestor and Jeff Lowe.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Johnson (Nestor); his stepchildren, George W. Johnson, Jr. and Brooke A. Johnson; his sister Margaret "Peggy"; his siblings-in-law, Flavio Fener, Josephine Johnson, Lee Nestor and Marta Lowe; his cousins, Missy Bruvik, Caroline Clancy and Sue Bruswitz; and his friends, Noel Sabatino and Doug Hoffman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
