He was predeceased by: his parents, Afa Shan and Maogu Shan (Lu); and his siblings, Yunmei Shan and Zhaogen Shan. He is survived by: his spouse Liying Zhang; his children, Weifang Shan (Peter Zheng) and Jinghong Shan (Li Jiang); his grandchildren, Stephanie Zheng (Devan Naik), Rebecca Zheng and Xinyi Shan; and his siblings, Zhaoding Shan, Zhaoxing Shan and Yuangu Lu.
