He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Anest and Evelyn Anest; and his brother Peter Anest. He is survived by : his wife Maria Anest (Gallo); his daughter Dawn Palmucci (Paul); his grandchildren, Adriana Palmucci and Paul Michael Palmucci; and his nieces, Adrienne Hall and Arlene Dechant (Brian).

He was a member of the NRA and the Cranford Rod & Gun Club, through which he donated countless hours to County Parks.
