John Andrew Blajsa Obituary
John Andrew Blajsa, 88, entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2023, at his home in Rahway. Born in Newark, NJ to the late Andrew & Susan (nee: Kello), he grew up in Newark and lived in Millington for many years before relocating to Rahway in 1993. He started his working career with Durolac in Newark rising to the position of plant manager. He then joined AkzoNobel Paint in Somerset as a facility supervisor before retiring in 2002.
John proudly served his country as a member of the New Jersey Army National Guard, was a lifetime member and former Fire Chief of the Millington Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of the Rahway Retired Mens Club. He was also an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Union before joining Zion Lutheran Church, Rahway. John was a WWII aficionado, liked watching Western movies and spending time in his garden. In his younger days he enjoyed taking the boys to Dirt Track Racing in Flemington & New Egypt.
He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Evelyn Blajsa (1990) and his sisters Wilma Mikolay and Helen Goitiandia.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Maria Mores-Blajsa, his sons Timothy Andrew & wife Diane and Mark John & wife Alexandra, his grandchildren Timothy Ernest, Mark Edward (wife Jennifer), Marlene Evelyn & Joseph Andrew Blajsa, and his sister Margaret DeLeo of Arizona.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
