He was predeceased by: his parents, George Layng and Ethel Layng. He is survived by: his wife Deborah; his children, George III (Madelyn), Peter (Heather), Mary Wilson (John), Susan Riedell (Eric) and Patrick (Amy); his grandchildren, George IV (Maureen), Mary Sternkopf (Erich), Jacquelyn, Collin, Liam, Susan, Conner, Jack, Patrick Brady, Ryan, Meghan, Catherine, James and William; and his great grandchild Cillian.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff (257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul RC Church (200 Wyckoff Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446).
