He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominikus Mattes and Maxima "Emma" Mattes; and his wife Benay. He is survived by: his children, Laura Grablutz (Frank) of Kimberton, PA, Kristen Snyder (Douglas) of Randolph, Jennifer Mattes of Flanders, Bethany Mattes of Randolph and Greg Mattes (Karen) of Succasunna; his grandchildren, Benjamin Grablutz, Rebecca Mattes, Zachary Snyder (Amanda), Emily Grablutz, Austin Little, Olivia Snyder and Gavin Mattes; and his great grandchildren, Nova and Luke.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tuttle Funeral Home (272 NJ-10, Randolph, NJ 07869). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Resurrection Parish (651 Millbrook Ave, Randolph, NJ 07869).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
