It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Schafer (Raritan, New Jersey), who passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Schafer (Fernsler) and Richard E. Schafer; his wife Anne N. Schafer; his son Timothy S. Schafer; and his brother-in-law Michael A. Nesteruk, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Julie S. McGurk (Dan McGurk) and Mark G. Schafer (Katie Johnson); his sister Judy (Dave Bogner); his grandchildren, Elliot and Molly McGurk; and his siblings-in-law, Christine Gerber (Mark Gerber), Marsha C. Nesteruk, Robert J. Nesteruk (Connie Nesteruk) and Vincent A. Nesteruk (late Sharon Thompson). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
