He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clayton and Florence Clayton (Sagurton); and his siblings, Harry, Georgiana, Marie and Nancy.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his daughters, Jennifer Belcuore and Kristine Clayton-Kuhlthau; his children-in-law, Chris Belcuore and Warren Kuhlthau; his brothers, George, Billy and Robert; his nieces and nephews, Susan Frankino and Brud Pomphrey; his caregiver Tina; and his grandchildren, Victoria, Savannah, Lauren, Christine, Beau, Charlotte, Julia, James, Jeffrey and Kristian.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson Memorial (310 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. James Church (94 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701).
