He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael "Mickey" J. German and Mary Ann "Matash" German; his brother Richard; his wife Betty; his brothers-in-law, James Cressen and Robert Nadler; and his nieces, Lynn Marie Cressen-Pardo and Dr. Christine M. German.

He is survived by: his sisters, Ruth Cressen and Carol Nadler; and his nieces and nephews, Heather Nadler, Nicole Nadler, Richard German, Robert Cressen and Robert Nadler.
