Florence L. Meyer Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 8, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Florence L. Meyer of Roseland, New Jersey. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Florence Habermann and George Habermann of Jersey City, NJ.; her husband Harry Charles Meyer; her son Bruce Charles Meyer of Bolivia, NC; her grandson Adam John DeMado of Washington, CT; and her siblings, Calista Prokopy of Melbourne, FL, Georgette Meyer of Hollywood, FL and Stanley Habermann of Washington, DC..

She is survived by : her daughter Jane Eyre De Mado; her son-in-law John De Mado of Marco Island, FL; her son Robert William Meyer of Sparta, NJ; her daughter-in-law Susan Mallan Meyer of Bolivia, NC.; her grandchildren, Timothy De Mado, Andrew De Mado, Matthew De Mado, Christian Meyer and Kathryn Auguston; and also, Jackson De Mado, Aydan, Gareth Meyer, Gavin, Tanner De Mado and Connor Auguston.

She addressed the gathering by recounting the events of her life beginning with the Spanish Flu in 1918-1919, the Depression, bread lines, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, the various presidents, assassinations, Covid 19 and much more, interjecting humor, of course, when appropriate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions will be collected for a memorial bench to be placed at the Sparta Senior Center in memory of Florence Lydia Meyer.
