We announce the death of Mary Benevenia of Roseland, New Jersey, who passed away on July 31, 2026, at the age of 97. Mary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Alphonse F. Benevenia; and her parents, Joseph Pastena and Ida Pastena. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Joseph Benevenia (Laureen), Mark Benevenia (Mary Ann) and Marianne (James Hetzel); her grandchildren, Nicole (Nathan), Michael, Samuel, Nicholas (Jackie), John, Cara, Angela, Andrew, Caroline, Maria and Charlie; her great grandchildren, Francis, Jeremiah and Josephine; and her sisters, Vivian Hardwick (Howard) and Josephine Russo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
