He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Messina (Tedesco); and his daughter Alisha Messina. He is survived by: his children, Robin Messina, Jaislin Messina, Jessica Messina, Lynn Villafane and Jamie Villafane; his grandchildren, Shane Messina, Liaha Paynter, Gianna Sturgis, Jahsiah Little, Aniyah Little and Mirai Little; his brothers, Thomas and Douglas Messina; and his nephews, Jed and Tommy Messina.
