Akira Suwa Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Akira Suwa of Runnemede, New Jersey. Akira, born on December 22, 1941, passed away on July 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Akira for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was predeceased by: his brother Yutaka Suwa; and his parents, Masaji Suwa and Kei Suwa. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Suwa; his daughters, Jasmine Slowik (Neal) and Keiko Zoll (Larry); his grandchildren, Wil Slowik and Judah Zoll; and his pet Mika.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Akira's memory to the Committee to Protect Journalists (cpj.org) or the Animal Welfare Association (awanj.org) in Voorhees, New Jersey.
