Valera leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Valera’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Valera will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Hascup; and her grandson William Carioti. She is survived by: her daughters, Jacqueline Christides and Jerri Hascup; her son-in-law Joseph Ruggiero; her brother Al Reed; and her great grandchild David (Kristie Bednarz).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kugler Funeral Home (311 N 5th St, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663).
Throughout a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, she made significant contributions to nursing education and healthcare.
