He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Hassler and Mary Hassler (Volk); his wife Joan Hassler (Mulford); and his siblings, Francis, Morant, John, George, Joseph Jr., Thomas, Ralph, Paul, Robert, David, Matilda Green and Gertrude Meyers.

He is survived by : his sons, William (Christine) of Pennsville, Kenneth (Brenda), David and Douglas (Jaime); his adoptive children, Corey and Whitney Vanneman; and his brother Edward (Elsinboro). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
