He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McCaffery and Helen McCaffery (Silva); his wife Virginia McCaffery (VanMinner); and his son Brian McCaffery. He is survived by: his children, Dennis McCaffery (Colleen), Pam Makarski (Michael), Colleen Santaniello (Mark) and Chrissy McCaffery Rhodes (Scott); his grandchildren, DJ McCaffery (Tonilynn), Jackie McCaffery, Hilary Frassetti (Steve), Michael John Makarski (Abby), Amanda Santaniello (Bjorn Ruud), Joseph Santaniello (Joelle) and Brianna McCaffery; his great grandchildren, Daniel Frassetti, Nico Marquez, Jackson Makarski, Valentino Marquez and Giavanna Santaniello; and his pet Guinness.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mack Memorial (1245 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ 07094).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you place a bet in his memory at The Meadowlands Racetrack or Fanduel or a Scratch Off.
