He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert (Elva Hertneck) and NJ. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Erin Grady (Joseph) and Charles R. Hertneck (Kaitlynn); his grandchildren, Layla, Jackson and James; and his siblings, Eileen Coyle (Marty), Donna Swanson (James), Ann Sharkey (Jay), Robert Hertneck (Nancy) and Raymond Hertneck (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist (520 Medford Lakes Rd, Tabernacle, NJ 08088). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
