We announce the death of Robert Bishop of Somerville, New Jersey, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmon Bishop and Grace Bishop; his daughter Bonnie; his son-in-law Gregory; and his siblings, Clarence, Thomas, Carmon Jr., Donald, Joyce, Eleanor and Mariam.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his daughters, Michele Anderson (Rob) and Brenda Wheelan; his sister Carlene Snyder; his granddaughters, Kayla, Allison (Alex) and Hannah; and his great grandchild Jemal Boyd III. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bongiovi Funeral Home (416 Bell Ave, Raritan, NJ 08869). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the New Cemetery of Somerville (192 S Bridge St, Somerville, NJ 08869).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post #12, Somerville, NJ, in Roberts Memory.
