He is survived by: his children, Christina Mac Dougall, Mike, Katie Kisselbach (Rick), Jason Szypulski (Jessica), Stacey Zapata and John Melia Jr. (Kate); his grandchildren, Ricky, Christine, Julie, Landen, Liam, Jaison, Ryan, Mikayla, Jinexa, Lucas, Jozua and Cassie; and his great grandchildren, Bentley and Andi. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home (15 Cherry Ln, Parlin, NJ 08859).

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to The Alzheimer's Association 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
