He was predeceased by: his parents, William J., Sr. and Elizabeth Walsh Tierney; and his son Robert S. Tierney. He is survived by: his sons, William "Billy" Tierney (Maureen), Patrick Tierney and Brian Tierney (Teri); his brother John; his sister-in-law Ann Marie Tierney; his daughter-in-law Denise Sunderman; his grandchildren, Raymond, Bryanna, Victoria and Nicholas Tierney; his nephew John Tierney (Julianna); his great-nephew Caden; and his pet Sarge.
