She was predeceased by: her son Walter F. Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Joseph T. "JoJo" Salvatore; her daughter Mary Smith (Lori Bourbonais) of Lansing, MI; her grandchildren, AJ, Dustin, Heather, Jacquelynn, Brittney and Jessica; her great grandchildren, Trent and Payton; and her goddaughter Dawn Antieri.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to an animal charity of your choice in Marie's memory.
