We announce the death of Eileen Giakas (South Plainfield, New Jersey), who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 95. Eileen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sarah Raya (Jacobs) and Raymond Raya; her husband George Giakas; and her siblings, Linda, Edna, Ernie and Eleanor.
She is survived by: her children, Michele Johnson (Tom), Dawn Giakas (Glenn Slavin), Wally Giakas (Susan) and Brett Giakas (Beth); her grandchildren, Wally, Justin, Alex, Casey, Nick, Chris, Kristin, Jessica, Paul, Vincent and Sarah; her great grandchildren, Wally, Aria, Mallory, Rosemary and Ella; and her brother Al Raya.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the McCriskin Gustafson Home For Funerals (2425 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
