We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2025, at the age of 77, Michael J. Lonergan of South Plainfield, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Michael departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Michael may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Michael leaves behind.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anne Lonergan and John Lonergan; his wife Carol of South Plainfield; and his siblings, Bridget Browne of Scotch Plains, Eilleen Russell of Summit, Rose West of Madison, Kathleen Sanguiliano of Fanwood, Dennis Lonergan of Summit, Laura Carlson of Kingwood, TX., Mary Piraneo and Joan Lonergan. He was also cherished by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of close friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial (7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ 07901).
