She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Barry Glenn (Celeste). She is survived by: her husband David P. Glenn; her sons, Jonathan (Erica) and Joshua (Joann Sexton); her grandson Malachi; her siblings, Charles "Wes" Tyndale (Sandra) of Plainfield, N. J., Rohan Chambers, Marcia Palmer, Karen Chambers and Lori Chambers of Canada; her aunt Peggy of Staten Island; her uncles, Aubrey of Jamaica, W. I. and Cleve of Staten Island; and her siblings-in-law, Leslie Glenn, Terry Mitchell, Clifford Glenn and Rodney Glenn (Kesia). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Reading was a lifelong passion of Joan's. In her memory, donations can be made to the Little Free Library in her name.
