He was predeceased by: his wife Lavina Stepel; his parents, David Stepel and Ruth Stepel; and his sister Harriet Sapolnick. He is survived by: his children, Daniel Stepel, Richard Stepel, Karen Albanese and Douglas Stepel; his grandchildren, Christopher, Erika, Leah and Maddie; his sister Roberta Wax-Shuken (Rachel); and his nieces and nephews, Lisa, Jodi, Barry and Jay. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
