He was predeceased by: his siblings, Wim Groot (Gon), Jan Groot (Lida) and Afra Damen (Herman). He is survived by: his children, Martin De Groot and Jan; his grandchild Christian Theodore Fender; his daughter Nancy Fender (Christopher); and his sisters, Annie Schuijt (Dick) and Joop (Ton) of Boer. He is also survived by her daughters and granddaughter.
