The memory of Rubey Freda Choonoo of Tenafly, New Jersey, who passed away on October 3, 2025 at the age of 102, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Rubey may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Rubey touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Lawrence and Sama Lawrence; her grandparents, Grace, John Thomas and Roob; and her husband Allan Choonoo.
She is survived by: her child Himalaya House; and her aunt Roob (Gam). She is also survived by her five children, six grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She knitted her children's jerseys when they were little, and she undertook several projects knitting and crocheting for charity.
