He is survived by: his family, Yhatzee, Trivial Pursuit, Scattegories and Scrabble; his spouse Marion "Cookie" Aversa; his children, Michael Aversa (Liza Madrid), Michele Casseles (Christopher) and Edward Aversa (Paula Miller); his grandchildren, Hannah, Paige Botjer, LeighAnn Vernaglia, Sean, Ryan, Paul Casseles, Samantha Aversa and Arabella Miller; and his great grandchildren, Bellamy and Clark Botjer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Humane Society, in honor of John's love of animals.
