It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melanie Vara of Toms River, New Jersey, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on March 10, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, James McCombs and Frances McCombs; her brother Frank McCombs; and her sister-in-law Eileen McCombs. She is survived by : her daughters, Lisa Sheldon (Scott) and Tina Korotky; her grandchildren, Noah Sheldon, Abygail Korotky, Maxine Korotky and Sarah Sheldon; her brothers, James McCombs (Liza) and Bob McCombs (Tina); her nieces and nephews, Marcy Bird (Scott), Jim McCombs (Kristin), Frank McCombs (Cristina), Rob McCombs and Meghan McCombs (Shawna); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Timothy Bird, Danielle Bird, Samuel Bird (Brianna), James McCombs, Ryan McCombs, Ava McCombs, JJ McCombs and Amelia McCombs; and also Evren Bird. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
